Support for Very Large (Continental) and Very Small (Extent in Meters) Terrains

The fractal nature of terrain makes it possible to use the same basic processes to create very large or very small extents, but you really can't work with them in the 3D View or Visual Editor. You can adjust the scale 'in your head' so to speak, but that only works if you're not trying to access the same terrain at higher or lower scales. I have made many sets designed to nest one inside the other to get a range from 16 km down to 100 m but it would be nice if the viewports would adjust to extreme scale shifts. Working with continents, the real scale can be between 5,000 to 7,500 km square. If you want to zoom in on a more human scale portion of that continent, you more or less have to crop out a tiny portion of the height, and import that as the foundation for your small scale terrain. It loses a lot in the process.

Well, that got a little long, but that's my two-cents. I hope something like this can be adopted.
