GPU acceleration of compute-heavy nodes
GPU accelerated Erosion node would be a life changer :)
I wouldn't mind if firs version would have map size limitations to something like 4k - 8k terrain grids

Although it's possible to use OpenGL or Direct3D to do calculations, I believe using dedicated compute API is much better and easier to implement.
I highly recommend it to any programmer - not even a 3D programmer. Drop whatever you're doing and learn either OpenCL or DirectCompute. It's easy to learn - you can do it in a few hours or few days - depending on your experience and your life as programmer will never be the same again :)
Just knowing that you have such a powerful GPU at your disposal will help you make better design choices for any algorithm you may write in the future
